Established in 1972, we are a family owned and operated business with over 90 years of combined experience in the equine world. Our facility is conveniently located between Chicago and Milwaukee – minutes away from I-94; 15 minutes north of the IL/WI border, 30 minutes from Milwaukee, and 30 minutes from Lake Geneva. As a family owned and operated facility, we live just a mere feet away from the barn and will welcome your equine partner as one of our own. Our goal is quite simple – we provide great care – the same care we expect for our personal horses. And we keep the needs of each individual horse at the forefront. We truly care about each and every animal in our care – and it shows. Our customers stay – for years – and we believe this is unique to our facility. We provide a friendly, safe, and positive atmosphere for all to enjoy. We invite you to take a stroll down our aisles – our horses are happy, spoiled and content – and that’s what counts when you are looking for your horse’s future home. Our name is also unique – and derived in the true family fashion we believe in. At its opening – the founders Elmer and Lorraine Belschner (and young daughter Ruth Ann) – believed they could provide services and care that was second to none. But at the same time – carried the family focused atmosphere that has make it special…and so EL-LOR-RU Stables was born. With letters from each of their names – we carry on the tradition my grandparents started. Today, Ruth Ann (Belschner) and Chuck Spinelli, along with their daughter Amy – continue to make our little facility special.
Our horse boarding stable is in a beautiful setting for you and your horse – with a wild-life refuge in our backyard. We offer a friendly, relaxed full-service facility with individual care for all your and specific needs. And we are just minutes away from Bong Recreation Area – with over 13 miles of beautiful trails. With our centralized indoor arena - all stall areas have direct, indoor access to the arena, wash and tie stalls, heated viewing room and tack room. You do NOT need to go outdoors in poor weather to get to another area of the barn with your horse.
